Saturday 19 Jun 2010 U8s & U9s Gala Day O'Connor Park

This Saturday sees all teams in the under 8s and 9s Auskick Pro competition head to Yass. There will be 20 teams playing at O’Connor Park between 12.30  and 2pm.

These teams play a modified version of the game focusing on skill development and team work. This age group is a joy to watch with their never ending energy and enthusiasm for the game of AFL. There will be plenty of action so come along and check out the AFL stars of the future. A bbq and full canteen will be running so make a day of it.

Sunday BBQ 16 May 2010

All Junior AFL games this round will be played on Sunday.

After the 14’s home game at 11-30am on Sunday the Junior Roos will be providing  a bbq lunch for the 10’s and 14’s Junior Roos and the Senior Roos that can make it to O’Connor Park around 1:00pm.

If we can manage numbers wise, a casual game of afl with juniors, seniors, parents etc all joining in will be played.

So please hang around after the game on Sunday.

AFL Schools Gala Day Fri 12 March 9:30 - 2:30 Joe O'Connor Park

The Yass Junior Roos committee is pleased to announce that we are again, running our very successful Gala Day on Friday the12th of March From 9.30am until approx 2.30pm at Joe O'Conner Park - Yass.

We have the full support of AFL NSW/ACT and they will be providing staff and equipment to help run the day. With the new amenities now available to us at Joe O'Connor Park we are sure to have a fabulous day. There is no cost involved for the day other than transport to and from the field.

Students from Year 3 to 6 inclusive are invited to attend. The day will consist of skills sessions followed by modified rules games. There will be some teacher involvement required in these sessions.

Also, just a reminder that there WILL be a canteen running on the day.

We would really love to see some of the smaller schools come and join us, it is such a wonderfully social day for both children and staff with exercise thrown in as a bonus. For those schools with lower numbers of students, I confirm that if you have insufficient number's to field a side, we will combine teams to ensure everyone gets a game, so PLEASE STILL COME ALONG. Your students are guaranteed a wonderful day.

For all the larger schools, we have appreciated your wonderful support and hope that you will join us again.
